Christine Cusack, a substitute teacher at Butler School and parent of a second-grader at Butler, told the Homer Community Consolidated School District 33C Board of Education at its Jan. 28 regular meeting she is concerned with large class sizes.

“I’m not sure how many of you have spent any length of time in a classroom with 28 or 29 7- and 8-year-olds, but because I’m a substitute teacher at Butler, I know firsthand how challenging it can be to keep that number of students under control and engaged in their work,” Cusack told the board.
