The White Oak Library Lockport Branch is ramping up its celebration of Black History Month, inviting multiple speakers and hosting film screenings to both bring black history to the forefront, and celebrate black culture.

“It’s important for the library to celebrate all people,” said Evangeline Stephenson, the adult and teen services supervisor at the library. “It’s important for us to be a community space and be open to everyone and we like to let everyone know that they are welcome.”
