The Lockport girls cross country program is back.

The tradition for the Porters team is a special one, as they have qualified as a team for the finals every year since 1987, except for the 2008 season. But this year, there was a mission to not let recent history repeat itself.

This past Saturday, Nov. 9, at the IHSA state cross country championships on the famed Detweiller Park course, the Porters placed 10th in 3A, and it was their first Top 10 finish since a fifth in 2014.
