A beautiful reminder of a Schilling School third-grader who passed away last year was honored Sept. 27 at a Village of Homer Glen board meeting.

Trustees presented the school with the village’s Nature and Harmony Award for planting tulip bulbs in front of the school in honor of their departed classmate, Tristan. They were among 12 groups/individuals to be honored.

Accepting the award for the school were Principal Candis Gasa and Tristan’s third-grade teacher, Tasha Ohotzke.
