The closer it gets to Halloween, the more images of scary spiders and bugs appear everywhere. For owners of Crosstown Exotics, Colin Langenderfer of Mokena and Mike Levins of Tinley Park, Halloween is everyday.

“I was always into bugs and reptiles,” Levins said. “I started keeping bugs and reptiles when I was about 10. I’ve always had tarantulas and scorpions, which my mom wasn’t too keen on in the beginning.”
