The Homer Community Consolidated School District 33C Board of Education held its first regular meeting of the school year Aug. 27. 

With school officially beginning on Aug. 21, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources Mike Portwood shared the initial enrollment numbers for grades K-8 were 3,725 students, slightly higher than the 3,700 at the close of the 2018-2019 school year in spring.
