For Lockport’s Julie Krejczyk, her job as an emergency medical services worker was more than just a profession, it was an unending series of daily challenges that she navigated with great proficiency. 

“Dealing with psychologically challenged patients was difficult because you had to understand the world they lived in,” Krejczyk said.

“Another challenge for me was to deal with disabled children and seeing them in that condition. But I had a special heart for them and their care.”
